		| Abstract: |
SMC and LMC are the nearest star forming galaxies
and therefore provide a rich laboratory for studying stellar evolution
and the interstellar medium. We were awarded with a large program at
XMM-Newton to survey the full extend of the SMC and recently got a
very large program at XMM-Newton to survey the inner 10 square degrees
of the LMC. Together with our ground-based supporting observations
(e.g. MCSF (our broad and narrow band photometric monitoring program)
and follow-up at several southern observatories) we are now analysing
a uniquely sensitive, high resolution, and complete dataset of the
X-ray point source population, SNRs, and the diffuse hot gas of these
 two low metallicity galaxies. |
