Abstract: As part of the non-profit OpenStax Project at Rice University, we have published a free, electronic, open-source textbook for Astronomy 101 courses. The senior authors are A. Fraknoi, D. Morrison, and S. Wolff, but we had help from some 70 members of the astronomical community in making sure the book was up-to-date, and educationally effective. The book can be used online, downloaded as a PDF file, or read as a Kindle book or iBook. An Open Education Resource Hub brings together ancillary materials created by the authors and by a growing number of adopters around the country. It's all available through openstax.org/details/astronomy.
