Abstract: PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars (PLATO 2.0) is a space mission that has been proposed in the framework of the ESA Cosmic vision 2015 – 2025 program as an M3 candidate mission for launch in 2022/24. PLATO 2.0 will do very high precision photometric measurements over a large sample of bright stars in order to discover exoplanets through transits and to characterize planets and their host stars using seismology.
