Title: 4th Hinode Science Meeting: Unsolved Problems and Recent Insights
Volume: 455 Year: 2012 View this Volume on ADS
Editors: L. Rubio, F. Reale, and M. Carlsson
Synopsis:
This volume contains a selection of papers presented at the fourth
Hinode Science Meeting held in October 2010, four years after the
launch of the Japanese Hinode satellite. The conference showcased
high spatial and temporal resolution observations of the Sun, as
well as the most advanced numerical simulations of the solar
atmosphere. A special session was devoted to explore the synergies
between Hinode and the Solar Dynamics Observatory.
Results from the SUNRISE balloon-borne solar observatory were
also discussed at the conference.
The 12 invited papers published in this volume oer an updated
view of current problems and recent advances in solar physics.
These papers are suitable for researchers and graduate students
approaching solar physics for the first time. Active researchers in
the field will also benet from them. Complementing the reviews,
a number of contributed papers present exciting advances in
nearly all areas of modern solar physics, including solar dynamo
and photospheric convection, sunspots and active regions, waves,
magnetic reconnection and atmospheric heating, ares and eruptive
phenomena, and the solar wind.
