| Abstract: |
We present a probabilistic approach allowing to derive the IMF in galaxies considering only a few starting hypotheses. The IMF can be deduced from the mass distribution law of a fragmented molecular cloud aggregates. This study shows that this law is a 2 parameter log-normal one and observations of molecular clouds and stellar systems seem to agree well with it. |
