		The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a cornerstone NASA's vision to reach new heights 
 and reveal the unknown.  JWST is an exemplary example of technical innovation, and is 
 arguably the most complex space telescope ever designed by humankind.  Behind this 
 technological marvel lies an equally lofty goal: to see back in time to study the earliest 
 stars and galaxies, and understand the origins and future of the universe and the galaxies 
 and solar systems within it.  The Data Management Subsystem is an integral part of the 
 systems JWST needs to achieve these goals, as it serves as the interface between the 
 spacecraft and the astronomers who use it.  With the launch of the James Webb Space 
 Telescope fast approaching, the software, hardware, workflows, and tools needed to receive, 
 process, and archive JWST data are coming to maturity.  We outline the JWST Data Management 
 Subsystem from an Operations point-of-view and detail the systems and tools that will be 
 used to ensure that the unprecedented JWST data products are of the highest quality 
 possible and available in the archive as quickly as possible. |
