| Abstract: |
Spatial reasoning is a significant topic in astronomy, since many everyday issues for astronomers require advanced spatial-thinking skills to be solved. We propose a classification of spatial phenomena in astronomy. Such a conceptualization is meant to simplify spatial computing in astronomy and provides a design pattern for related software applications. By using the core concepts of spatial information as a taxonomy for astronomic spatial content and giving a respective implementation how they could look applied to astronomic spaces, we hope to facilitate the development of software dealing with this specific part of astronomic computing. |
