		| Abstract: |
CernVM-FS is being tested by the System Team of the Science Ground Segment (SGS) within the Euclid Project (www.euclid-ec.org/) as the primary execution environment and software distribution tool for processing mission data.
In particular, CernVM-FS is viewed as a possible solution to the problem of providing a homogeneous execution environment across heterogeneous computing resources at 9 different Science Data Centres (SDCs) located across Europe and the US.
It also is seen as an ideal solution for enabling a DevOps methodology of software development, testing, and distribution that does not require regular intervention by systems administrators at individual SDCs.
CernVM-FS is currently being tested at scale through a technical SGS IT Challenge involving existing SDC compute clusters and the Euclid Continuous integration platform (CODEEN).
This paper will focus on this challenge and its main outcomes. |
