		| Abstract: |
We report on the development and use of a redundant secondary transactional authentication mechanism for data download from the Subaru Telescope Archive (STARS), in addition to the primary authentication mechanism composed of the personal login/password credentials of the query user. Usage of transactional credentials is very high, logs from 2013-2016 show an average 79% usage rate for downloads, compared to an average 21% usage rate of personal credentials for download. We conclude that transactional credentials are a preferred option for data download and offer unique advantages to the user. |
