| Abstract: |
The Virtual Observatory seeks a repository or thesaurus that could easily list the facilities and instruments used in the astronomical community at large, including solar physics and planetology.
We examined various existing lists, and propose a description scheme (XML) for all facilities and instruments, and a mechanism to define unique identifiers for the various items.
Various use-cases for a name resolver application and examples are discussed. |
