		| Abstract: |
Datalink is a new Virtual Observatory protocol designed to facilitate
the publication of complex datasets. It provides a standard way to
declare relationships between a primary dataset and related artifacts
like files from the dataset's provenance, refined data products,
 logs, alternative
representations, previews, generated plots, or services operating on
the dataset. It defines a VOTable-based data format, a simple protocol
to retrieve data in that format, and a means for embedding information
on services speaking that protocol into data access services. This
contribution briefly introduces datalink and describes how the server
suite DaCHS lets data center operators define datalink services. |
