The southern Mira variable U Mic, previously classified
as M5e–M7e (GCVS), was observed at a deep minimum on May 17, 2014.
Narrow-band measurements of TiO and VO features indicate a spectral
type of M10, a classification seldom attained even among the
large-amplitude Miras. |
