| Abstract: |
It is often stated that novae trace light in their host galaxies. Using a combined bulge and disk model, we find that this “law” does not yield a good match to the observed positional distribution of novae in M31. We outline our modeling approach and present the results for a two component model in which the bulge to disk light ratio is an exact match to the photometrically determined brightness profile of M31. |
