		| Abstract: |
We present an IR multiwavelength (1.2 to 24μm) study of millimeter point-like sources in the
η-Car Southern Nebula (also known as the South Pillars region). The millimeter observations
were obtained with the AzTEC camera as a visitor instrument to ASTE radio-telescope on 2007.
A total of 40/52 AzTEC sources in this area (F1.1 > 200 mJy) were found to have more than
two counterparts at IR wavelengths. As a first approximation, assuming valid an extension of Lada
classification of embedded YSOs to massive candidates, we find: 11 Class III, 10 Class II, and
19 Class 0/I sources in a region of about 1200 pc2 of active star formation. By fitting
theoretical models to Class 0/I and II objects, a total of 15 have shown a good fit with a disk
component. We get that these YSOs have masses in the range of about 1.8 – 9.2 M☉, disk
masses up to 0.5 M☉, envelope masses up to 200 M☉, and an age range from 103 to 106 yr. |
