		| Abstract: |
The digital networks are changing the way that knowledge is created, structured,
curated, consumed, archived and referenced. Projects like Wikipedia, Github or
Galaxy Zoo have shown the potential of online communities to develop and
communicate ideas. ASCOT is a web based framework that facilitates collaboration
among astronomers providing a simple way to share, explore, interact and analyze
large amounts of data from a broad range of sources available trough the Virtual
Observatories (VO). Designed with a strong emphasis on usability, ASCOT takes
advantage of the latest generation of web standards and cloud technologies to
implement an extendable and customizable stack of web tools and services. |
