| Abstract: |
The 10.4-meter Gran Telescopio CANARIAS (GTC) is now approaching its first light, expected in September 2006. We describe two critical GTC software systems: The Data Factory, which is in charge of implementing and executing Real-Time engineering and scientific pipelines, and the GTC Telescope Control System (TCS), which implements the GTC Pointing, Tracking, Guiding and Active Optics. A simple yet powerful and generic unified method to transparently represent physical quantities and units throughout the GTC control system is also described. |
