		| Abstract: |
In this paper we focus on two main aspects of planetary nebulae (PNe)
as stellar and galactic evolutionary constraints: (1) PNe as probes
of AGB evolution across metallicities, where both the Galactic and
Magellanic Cloud PNe are studied together, and (2) PNe as probes of
galaxy disk evolution. For the first topic we rely on two Spitzer
Space Telescope IRS surveys of Magellanic Cloud and Galaxy PNe,
where the nature of PN morphology was found to be closely related to
their dust type. The second topic illustrates a series of spectroscopic
observations of Galactic, M33, and M81 PNe and H II regions,
comparatively studied to determine the evolution of their radial
 metallicity gradients. |
