| Abstract: |
UVES data of RR Tel show an exceeding emission intensity in the O IV lines of the optical multiplets 1, 2, 3 and 6 as compared with other lines of similar excitation potential and laboratory intensity. We suggest that a new fluorescence mechanism, in which the He II recombination line at λ 237.33Å pumps the O IV EUV lines near λ 238.4 Å, may explain the excitation of multiplets 2 and 1. |
