		| Abstract: |
The large diameter (15 m) of the Plateau de Bure antennas limits the size of the interferometer field of view to ~55'' at λ 3 mm and ~22'' at λ 1.3 mm. To map larger regions, several adjacent, overlapping fields have to be observed. This mosaicing technique is now routinely used with the Plateau de Bure interferometer, both at λ 3 mm and λ 1.3 mm, and has proven to be a very efficient tool. For instance, sub-arcsecond angular resolution mosaics can be produced. A non-linear joint deconvolution of all the fields is performed, using a CLEAN-based algorithm implemented in the GILDAS package. Dedicated algorithms have also been developed to include the short-spacings information. These mosaicing methods and algorithms will be presented and illustrated with some recent astronomical results. |
