| Abstract: |
We have observed 31 Hickson Compact Groups of galaxies in the H_α filter and we have estimated the H_α flux and luminosity for 66 of their member galaxies. The preliminary results obtained from the analysis of this sample of galaxies point toward a scenario in which the evolution of galaxies is related to dynamical properties of HCGs and to the environments in which HCGs are embedded. |
