		| Abstract: |
Amorphous carbon (AC) dust has been observed in the infrared in the wind of most evolved carbon-rich Wolf-Rayet (WC) stars. In order to explain the formation of AC grains, we study as a first step the formation of small carbon chains in the stellar wind of a typical evolved WC star. Our results show that density enhanced regions in the wind (clumps and/or equatorial discs) are necessary to trigger dust formation in WC stars. |
