		| Abstract: |
The concept of the interchange convection has been proposed as a hypothetic explanation of peculiarities of sunspot penumbrae. In order to investigate this concept, we performed a numerical simulation in which a thin magnetic flux tube embedded in a sunspot model evolves dynamically. The simulations offer a consistent explanation for penumbral fine structures such as bright filaments, penumbral grains, and probably for the Evershed effect. |
