Abstract: A wavelet analysis of the light curves of variable white dwarfs is presented. The fundamentals of the wavelet analysis are outlined, and application of the analysis to a DA variable white dwarf G191 16 and DB variable white dwarf PG1351 + 489 is discussed. It is shown that the wavelet analysis when combined with a Fourier analysis can detect and localize any appearance of oscillations at a specific frequency in the signal and any variations in amplitude or frequency. Energy transfer from one mode to another is considered since a periodic transfer of energy from one pulsation mode to another is expected to give rise to periodic modulations of their corresponding wavelet modulae.
