Abstract: The properties of the dwarf Cepheid variables are considered, with focus placed on new cluster variables that are a part of the metal-poor stellar population. The data on the new variables along with the data on the galactic field variables are plotted, and it is noted that dwarf Cepheids are found in all stellar populations from extremely metal-poor Population II to metal-rich Population I. The evolution of two stars into a dwarf Cepheid instability strip from ZAMS is discussed, and it is concluded that the standard post-main-sequence evolution can successfully account for the absolute magnitudes, periods, and dependence of the metal abundance on the period of the dwarf Cepheid.
