Abstract: A program of UBVRI CCD photometry of spectrophotometric standard stars has been underway at CTIO for the past eighteen months. The accuracy of the resulting photometry is discussed, including a direct comparison with high quality photoelectric photometry for many of the same stars. The CCD photometry is shown to reproduce the UBVRI system at the few millimag level of accuracy. It is argued that, except in the case of high time resolution photometry, the CCD can, with advantage, replace the photoelectric photometer even for photometry of bright, isolated stars.
