Abstract: A time-dependent numerical description of dust-forming circumstellar envelopes around pulsating AGB stars has to account for a variety of very different physical and chemical processes leading to a system of multi-scale, highly non–linear, coupled partial differential equations. We present a new numerical modelling technique for the dust-forming circumstellar envelopes around pulsating AGB stars which allows for independent sophisticated time integration for each spatial grid point and aims at a detailed modelling of relevant processes with very different time scales.
