Abstract: It is known that the BATSE gamma-ray bursts may be separated into three subgroups with respect to their durations. In this paper another definition of these subgroups is presented using also the hardnesses of the bursts. Using this new definition 12% of bursts belong to the intermediate subgroup which shows an anisotropic distribution on the sky.
