| Abstract: |
This report captures highlights of the Industry Partnerships Panel at the Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO25) Conference. The panel featured leaders from companies with decades of experience shaping NASA missions, from the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes to the most recent decadal studies and the ongoing maturation of HWO technologies. Panelists underscored how industry is driving forward the key innovations on telescope stability and other enabling technologies that will make HWO possible, building on the hard-won experience of prior NASA missions, and how collaboration across companies is enabling cost-effective, timely progress. They emphasized that HWO is not only a scientific imperative, but also a cornerstone for sustaining U.S. leadership in space science, technology, and engineering. A recurring theme was the need to preserve continuity in the mission-critical workforce that has delivered NASA’s greatest achievements, ensuring the next generation of engineers and technologists are prepared to carry HWO forward, and sustain American leadership on the global stage and in space exploration. |
