Abstract: In this talk we are going to show how to involve high school students of urban and rural areas throughout international campaigns of citizen science to search asteroids by using online resources. This work was done in the city of Cali, Colombia where we chose an students from a public high school, and they received the respective training to search candidates for asteroids, later on, the same students were interviewed in local newspapers to show their experience in this citizen science project. After they were involved in the project, all members of their high school including their physics teacher were highly active in the astronomy topic of this campaign. We realized that involving people inside of scientific projects could help to popularize astronomy in a community promoting at the same time, gender equality.
