Abstract: This session introduced the current state of public understanding of climate change and a sampling of the types of evidence-based communication practices that help move public understanding, tailored to astronomers and their unique perspective on the global climate. Presenters included representatives from the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP), Astronomers for Planet Earth (A4E), and the National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation (NNOCCI). Session participants provided important insight into their needs and interests in these areas to inform the development of future in-depth trainings for astronomers to be offered through an emerging collaboration of ASP, A4E, and NNOCCI.
