Abstract: We have studied magnetic fields and other physical properties of chemically peculiar stars in subgroup 1a of the Orion OB1 association. New data on distances obtained from Gaia parallaxes show that subgroup 1a of the association is about 1/3 farther than the HIPPARCOS data indicate. We show that there are 15 potentially magnetic Ap and Bp stars, while 6 Am stars are foreground objects only projected onto the association. Seven stars appear to have magnetic fields, whereas other 8 do not show any.
