Abstract: The Euclid satellite is an ESA mission to be launched in 2020. It aims at understanding the accelerating expansion of the Universe by investigating Weak gravitational Lensing and Galaxy Clustering. Euclid's Wide Survey will observe 15000 deg2 with its two instruments, the Visible Imaging Channel (VIS) and the Near IR Spectrometer and imaging Photometer (NISP). Here we report on a series of Data Challenges to test the Euclid cataloging pipeline. Object colours are fed into different photometric redshift algorithms to assess their performance with respect to Euclid requirements. These data Challenges were run on “emulated” Euclid data derived from deep Hubble Space Telescope (HST) imaging data and a combination of HST and ground based data in the CANDELS/GOOODS-S and the COSMOS field, respectively.
