Abstract: We present a novel approach for asteroseismology of DA and DB white dwarfs that consists in the employment of large sets of non-static, physically sound, fully evolutionary models representative of these stars. Our approach combines (i) a significant exploration of the parameter space (M*, Teff, MH, etc), and (ii) a detailed and updated input physics, in particular regarding the internal chemical structure, that is a crucial aspect for correctly interpret the information embedded in the pulsation spectra of these stars. We already have applied this approach with success on pulsating PG1159 stars (DOV or GW Vir variables). Here, we apply our approach to an ensemble of 44 bright DAV stars, and also to the recently discovered DAV star WD J1916+3938 (Hermes et al. 2011) and DBV star KIC 8626021 (Ostensen et al. 2011), both stars located in the field of view of the Kepler Mission.
