Abstract: X-ray variability in Wolf-Rayet binary systems is related to orbital eccentricity, eclipses and the density-dependent plasma physics of collisionless shocks. Intensive campaigns on WR 25, WR 140 and other stars have shown what a rich variety of physics can be investigated through well-designed observations.
