Abstract: Up-coming and future radio facilities, especially the SKA, will probe Galactic and extragalactic magnetic fields via surveys of Faraday rotation measures towards dense grids of polarized background sources. Many of these background sources are likely to be spiral galaxies fairly similar to our own, the Milky Way. Therefore, it is important to understand their intrinsic radio polarization properties and population polarization statistics. I will investigate these via simulations and make some comparison between models and observations.
