Abstract: We investigate the information contained in observations and to what extent each of them contributes individually to constraining the physical parameters of the system we are investigating. To do this, we present a study involving the technique of Singular Value Decomposition using as a simple example a detached eclipsing binary system. We intend to apply an extension of this technique to asteroseismic measurements of Delta Scuti stars that are members of eclipsing binary systems.
