Abstract: WKB approximation is used to derive the exact tunnelling probability in the solar thermonuclear reaction rates. We evolve a solar model using the Geneva evolution code and compare the result with the standard solar model that utilizes the NACRE thermonuclear reaction rate compilation. The reaction rates utilizing the exact tunnelling probability are lower than the NACRE rates at the central region of the sun. We expect the new reaction rates to modify significantly the rate production of the solar neutrinos.
