Abstract: We study UV/optical star formation rates of galaxies in the Extended Groth Strip (0.2 < z < 1.4) and compare them to IR luminosities from deep 24 μm imaging. We split galaxies based on their location in the specific SFR vs. stellar mass plot, using a local SF/AGN calibration. Galaxies in the “AGN” region exhibit IR excess. This population is consistent with obscured AGN, but other possibilities for the origin of IR excess are not ruled out.
