Abstract: We report the spectroscopic properties of BzK galaxies in the Subaru Deep Field. We carried out near-infrared spectroscopy of 44 KAB < 23.4 BzK galaxies with Subaru/MOIRCS, covering wavelengths from 0.9 to 2.3 μm. Among the 44 galaxies, 40 are classified as star-forming galaxies (sBzKs) and four as passive galaxies (pBzKs) based on their B−z vs z−K colors. Half of the 44 are fainter than KAB = 22. We have detected emission lines such as Hα in 15 sBzKs, of which nine are KAB > 22. Here we report the redshift distribution and specific star formation rate for the sBzKs with a spectroscopic redshift.
