Abstract: What do people who work at an observatory do? How do we communicate what we do to a rural community? McDonald Observatory is located in a rural part of West Texas, in one of the least populated areas of the state. Our Open House model offers a wide range of activities for people to learn about what we do, how we do it, and learn a little astronomy too.
