Abstract: We have been compiling an atlas of Broad Absorption Line AGN at low redshift following a relatively broad criterion. The UV absorption properties have been associated, whenever possible, to the location in the so-called Eigenvector 1 diagram (sensitive to orientation and Eddington ratio), and to other optical UV and X-ray properties as well. We discuss whether BAL AGN are "every quasar's sidelook" or whether a minimum Eddington ratio is necessary for the occurrence of BALs.
