Abstract: We examined the effects of electron scattering (opacity and Comptonization) on the emergent spectrum from slim accretion flows. Then, the model is applied to Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxys (NLS1s) to estimate the accretion rates. We found that a NLS1, PG 1448+273, has an extremely large accretion rate in the unit of Eddington luminosity (LEdd); 1000 LEdd / c2. This implys that the object is really young: its age inferred from the black-hole mass divided by the accretion rate is about 106 years.
