Abstract: We investigate the possibility of pulsed synchrotron emission from reconnecting regions in striped pulsar winds. Numerical calculations are reported that show weak emission if standard estimates of the reconnection rate are taken. Postulating much more rapid reconnection results in emission levels comparable to those observed in X-ray and gamma-ray pulsars. Using the Crab pulsar as an example, we discuss the spectrum of the pulses.
