Abstract: The turnoff region stars selected from the Hipparcos catalog are analyzed for the purpose of assessing constraints on the age of the Galactic thick disk relative to the halo. The distribution of [Fe/H] versus (B-V)0 as well as the MV,(B-V)0 diagrams suggest that the bluest turnoff stars of the thick disk, having moderate metallicities, may be a few Gyr younger than the halo stars. The low abundance tail of the thick disk is, however, found to be consistent with coevality over the [Fe/H] range -1 to -3 dex.
