Abstract: We present low-resolution spectroscopy of the two desynchronized polars V1500 Cyg and V1432 Aql (RX J1940.1-1025). The energy distribution of V1500 Cyg confirms the expected cooling of the white dwarf and shows that the accretion rate has been stable since 1992. The geometrical configuration of V1432 Aql at the time of the observations is inferred from the radial velocity measurements, using a desynchronized polar model. Following the suggestion by Mukai that the three-period system V1432 Aql could instead be an IP, we compare its properties with those of the new class of progenitors of polars.
