Abstract: We describe a new instrument for the detection of interference fringes in the near infrared at the Infrared-Optical Telescope Array. The instrument had its first test run and saw ``first fringes'' in Spring 1997. Based on the measured performance during that run, we expect that our limiting magnitude for our scientific observations with this new system will be at least 8 in the J, H, and K bands.
