Abstract: We have used the Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope (JKT) on the island of La Palma to observe a complete low-mass spectral sequence in the Harris R and RGO I and Z filters. Some of the stars chosen have spectroscopically determined effective temperatures and have been selected from Jones et al. (1994), Kirkpatrick et al. (1993), Bessell et al. (1991) and Berriman, Reid and Leggett (1992). We have derived colour-temperature relations for these stars which enable us to overlay isochrones onto observational data.
