Abstract: Archival observations of 2.7 GHz and 8.1 GHz radio flares were studied to determine whether strong flares occurred at specific orbital phases. We used the 1972 - 1975 observations of two Algols (beta Per and b Per) and two RS CVn binaries (AR Lac and UX Ari) which were obtained at the NRAO-Green Bank Observatory by D. Gibson. Although tidal effects are expected to enhance the flaring activity near phases 0.5 and 0.0, these data showed no obvious correlation between the strength of the flares and orbital phase.
