Abstract: We resolve the spiral waves in the accretion disc of the eclipsing dwarf nova, EX Dra, and the eclipsing novalike, V347 Pup, using Doppler tomography. Time-resolved spectroscopy, using the 3.5m telescope at Calar Alto, of EX Draconis, during its 2000 July outburst shows strong spiral waves in the accretion disc in both Balmer and He I lines. NTT spectra of V347 Pup show more clearly the spiral waves in the He I emission lines.
