Abstract: The observational status of the 53 Per stars, the Zeta Oph stars and the periodic Be stars (Lambda Eri variables) is reviewed. Line profile observations of 53 Per stars are not adequate for a determination of their periods; photometric observations indicate that they could be singly periodic with random fluctuations. The data are not sufficient to test the generally accepted model of nonradial pulsation (NRP). The Zeta Oph stars are probably NRP's, but the rotational modulation hypothesis is not ruled out by the available data. The photometric periods of the Lambda Eri variables are the same as their rotational periods. Flaring events have been seen in the line profiles. Recent photometric observations are difficult to understand in terms of NRP, and suggests rotational modulation of an active star. If the NRP model is correct, the Zeta Oph and Lambda Eri stars rotate as solid bodies.
